Koraly Dimitriadis is a Cypriot-Australian writer and performer. She is the author of the poetry books Love and F–k Poems and Just Give Me The Pills, and together they form the basis for her theatre show Saying The Wrong Things. Koraly also makes short films of her poems. She is a freelance opinion writer and has been published in The Washington Post. Koraly was awarded the UNESCO City of Literature Residency, a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship, and a Moreland writers residency for her debut novel, Divided Island. Set in Cyprus and Melbourne’s northern suburbs, Divided Island is a love story that explores how our upbringing affects who we love and how we love. Divided Island screams with the rage of the children of migrants, whose culture kept them fenced into Melbourne’s northern suburbs, and love was the only way out.
