James Gales is a Melbourne-based electronic musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist. His work draws from a virtuosic background majoring in classical piano at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, as well as eclectic performance experience as a jazz pianist, violinist, guitarist and DJ. As a collaborator, James has written music for the (twice) Green Room-nominated musical Romeo Is Not The Only Fruit, and Margot Tanjutco’s Golden Gibbo-nominated cabaret Vanity Fair Enough. As a solo artist, he is releasing two debut records this year: an EP of introverted synthpop under the alias Lighthouser, and an album of videogame-inspired soundscapes as Sailor Take Warning.
