Kat Capel

Kat Capel is an experimental nonfiction writer and co-director of expanded literary practice space ReadtheRoom. Their writing focuses on the poetics of narration, is often conversational, and contains a merging of forms such as, but not limited to; poetry, prose, screen/playwriting, image and found text. Kat writes to lure meaning from real or imagined events of love, horniness, place, grief and gender. Their recent manuscript work & love was highly commended by the 2019 Deakin University Nonfiction Prize and they are currently working on a one night only play called Who’s Afraid of Everything, to be performed in 2020.
