Ana Maria Gomides is a proud Afro-Brazilian storyteller working out of Birraranga/Naarm, also known as Melbourne. She writes reflexively on her experiences of race, womanhood, queerness and mental illnesses. Not unlike your favourite nana, Ana Maria can’t handle spicy foods, enjoys the company of her cat, cross-stitching, watching her shows, and being in bed by 9pm. Her work can be found on Djed Press, Cordite, Junkee Media and FOLK Magazine.
