K A Nelson won the 2010 Overland Judith Wright Poetry Prize for New and Emerging Poets. A former public servant and adult educator, she has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations for nearly four decades, still working part time with two organisations in the NT. Her poems have been published in the Canberra Times, Mascara Literary Review, Westerly (online), Not Very Quiet (online) and elsewhere. Her first collection, Inlandia, was published by Recent Work Press in 2018. She is writing a memoir with poetry as part of a Masters by Research at the University of Canberra.
